The traditional costume

   Romania is the country where i live, full of traditions and customs. It is the most traditional country in Europe.
   The traditional costume reflects ethnic identity and expresses the historical and artistic values of the Romanian people.
   The traditional clothing remained unchanged throughout history. The basic clothing for both men and women is a shirt called "Ie", made from hemp, linen or woollen fabric.
   It has traditional patterns, colored in black, red or blue, with geometrical shapes.
   The shirt can be tied around the waist using a fabric belt, narrow for women and wider for men.
   Women wear a blouse similar to men's shirts, but longer, together with skirts with a pattern, and an apron over it, and topped with a black vest.
   On their heads, women wear head coverings or scarves.
   Men's traditional clothing has a white shirt, white trousers, hat, waist coat and boots.
   Each region has its distinct clothing.
   Traditions are very important for each country, that is why the traditional costumes are the most iconic symbols for the people.
