Nouns can be either 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 or 𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥.
𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 means just one of the person, animal or thing which the noun refers to.
𝐏𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 means more than one.

1. Most nouns have the ending -s.

2. Nouns ending in consonant + y = -ies.

Vowel (a, e, o, u) + y = -s.

3. Nouns ending in -s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, -o = -es.

4. Nouns ending in -f, -fe = -ves.
